Social Ministries Committee
The mission of the Social Ministries Committee is to serve as a catalyst to empower our parishes to fulfill Jesus' teachings of love, justice, freedom and peace by responding in a organized way to societal and individual human needs at both the local and global level.
The committee usually meets once a month from Sept. through May.
The committee is responsible for St. Paul's special collection the first Sunday of each month for both local and global social justice organizations.
The Social Ministries Committee is involved with:
The Saturday Meal Program, in which we provide meals on the first and fifth Saturdays of each month.
The Church of the Week, in which we feed and house homeless people in connection with the Place of Hope.
The “Yes” program which feeds lunch to children during the summer.
The Great River Interfaith Partnership (GRIP), a member of Isaiah in the Twin Cities, working with other faith communities on economic and social justice issues in Central Minnesota and throughout Minnesota.
