Week of September 23, 2018
Today is the start of my fourth week in the office. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me and helped me feel at home here at St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s! I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming days. Feel free to stop me if you see me around!
Working here is a coming home for me. I started my faith journey at St. Peter’s as a child, being baptized here and attending with my parents until we moved in 1987. At that time the school was SPPM, and I walked with my classmates over to St. Paul’s for Masses and school gatherings. I recognize many of your faces from that time, though I do not know your names. What a wonderful gift to work in a place with such dedicated and faithful people!
On September 26 our Faith Formation year starts anew. Everyone is welcome to join in the Community Meal held from 5:15-6:00 pm in the Dining Room at St. Peter’s. Then, families will meet in the church for prayer and announcements followed by activity centers and an Ice Cream Social in the Dining Room. Parents, please plan to stay with your children through the 6:15-7:15 pm class time.
I invite everyone to join in the Ice Cream social, to show gratitude to Geralyn for her many years of ministry here. If you’re only coming for the social, plan to join us in the Dining Room at about 6:45pm.
This year during Faith Formation we’ll be talking about what it means to Fully Rely On God, a theme that will be played out in our activity centers our first night, but also in the prayers and activities of the year. Join us!
