Parish Websites are a great means of communication. If you are unable to pick up a weekend bulletin because you were out of town or you want to gain more information about a particular ‘goings-on’ within our twined parish communities or learn how you may get more involved, our Parish Website is a great way to do it! In this day and age of rapid communication and social media (some of it causing sensory overload which is not so good) these means are non-the-less very useful in getting important information out. I imagine Jesus would have used social media if he were walking the earth today to get his message across! This week, I want to point out a couple things in our website you might be interested in and what might be coming up.
First, be sure to check out the photos from the recent Mission Trip to Peru that some of our St. Cloud Area Youth have taken part in. Our own Kim and Nicki Walz were a big part of that trip along with a great group of young people traveling south to learn about the Peruvian Culture, get to know some their people, and doing some charity/mission work. Just click on the map on the sliding billboard of our website to see some of the photos, or better yet, talk to Kim or Nicki about their experience yourself. I am sure they would be happy to share!
Secondly, we are continuing to develop and enhance our parish Facebook page over time. Thanks to Geralyn (our FF Staff member) we have combined 3 different Facebook pages associated with St. Peter and St. Paul and have put these into one to give you better and up-to-date information. My hope is that we can keep this up! Since Summer can be a slow time and we still want people to check out our Facebook, Geralyn has come up with a great idea! Just for fun, she will be posting different pictures from both our parishes with a various Scripture quotes or insights for your edification. You will then have an opportunity to guess from which parish this is taken from (St. Peter or St. Paul). The person(s) who guess the most correct answers over time will get a simple prize….not sure what that is yet. It’s just something for fun until more pertinent information comes along during our school year.
Finally, as some of you know, I just finished giving a “Fishing Retreat” for a group of guys in late June. We had great weather, great campfires and a great time of prayer, of reflection and of course, fishing! Hopefully soon, we will have some of these photos on our Parish website for your viewing pleasure as well. It’s just another way of sharing what we are doing here St. Peter and St. Paul. So, stay tuned, there is always something new to see and experience on our site.
