Ahhhh! Easter! The Easter Season is a wonderful time of year when everything seems to come back to life! For example, it’s a great act of divine providence that God planned the resurrection of His Son, Jesus, to happen just as nature itself is experiencing new life with the grass turning green, flowers beginning to blossom, birds singing their songs, trees putting out leaves and buds, young baby animals being born, “Alleluias” in church and the list goes on. In moments like this the Easter Season seems to be all around!
It’s also great to see the smiling faces of our First Holy Eucharist (First Communion) children as they receive new life through the risen Body and Blood of Christ who becomes a huge part of their spiritual life. Through the Eucharist, Jesus’ risen body enters them (and us) so that we might experience his joy here on earth and in the new world to come. Congratulations to them!
Within the next couple weeks our Confirmation students as well will experience new life as they are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and are sent forth as responsible adults into our world to give witness to the risen Lord in their life. This year we have 59 candidates prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation from both parishes. I ask that we all pray for them as they take on this very important step in their life. Please feel free to join us on Wednesday, May 10th at 7:00 PM at the Church of St. Paul for our Confirmation Mass. It would be great to a have a full Church praying for and celebrating with our young people the completion of their initiation within our Roman Catholic Church!
Easter Season, Communions and Confirmations….can it get any better than this! Words to Live By: “A contented person is someone who can enjoy the scenery along a detour!” Easter Season blessings!
