“If you come to our Parish Mission, we won’t through the Book at you!” By now most of you should have heard the exciting news! We are having a Parish Mission hosted by the Churches of St. Peter and St. Paul on February 4-9th of this year!
A Parish Mission is something churches often do every several years or so to re-energize our faith community and inspire us to come to an even closer relationship with God. For those of you who are simply searching for more meaning and purpose in your life, this mission is for you! For those of you who have been lukewarm in your Catholic Faith or have thought about abandoning God, this mission is for you! For those who have remained connected and involved in our parishes for many years, this mission is also for you! It’s really for everyone!
Our Parish Mission starts during our regularly scheduled weekend Masses where Fr. Peter Schavitz, a Redemptorist priest and our Parish Mission speaker, will introduce himself and encourage us to participate in this once in a lifetime experience. This will be followed by an early Sunday afternoon session at 1:00 PM at St. Paul (plenty of time for the Super Bowl later!) followed by various evenings sessions Monday thru Thursday at 6:30 PM at St. Paul. Each evening is based on a different theme. Our Parish Councils have decided that to best accommodate the potential crowd it would be best to have the evening sessions at St. Paul. Not to be left out however, St. Peter will host all the weekday morning Masses at 8:15 AM Monday thru Wednesday with Fr. Peter presiding as well. These mornings do not replace the evening sessions, but are just an added bonus to our spiritual journey.
Yes, “If you come to our Parish Mission, we won’t throw the Book at you!” however, you may learn more of what the “Good Book” has to offer! Come join us for this wonderful spiritual event!
