I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who were involved with our Holy Week and Easter Liturgies. They were wonderful celebrations of our faith and our Paschal Mystery in Christ. Jesus has risen! We are saved! Special thanks to our decorators, our parish liturgists, our choirs, our altar servers and all our volunteers who helped put on our various ceremonies. Thanks also to those from St. Peter who put on our Seder Meal prior to Holy Thursday Mass, and those from St. Paul who helped put on our Easter Vigil reception after our Holy Saturday celebration. Special thanks to both Fr. Gerry Dalseth who helped me with some of our liturgies and to Deacon Dave Lindmeier and Deacon Bill Ritchie too. Not least of all, I would also like to thank all of you for participating in our services and gathering to celebrate our new beginnings, our new Spring time in Christ! I hope you all have a Happy and Blessed Easter Season! Enjoy the sunshine!
Finally, I would like to remind everyone that the Second Sunday after Easter (April 3rd) is also Divine Mercy Sunday. This is a relatively new holy day instituted by the late, great Saint Pope John Paul II. This is an excellent time to really focus on the meaning of God’s inexhaustible mercy which is held out for us. After Jesus’ triumph over sin and death, what better way to continue the celebration than to tap into God’s mercy and life given to us. You might consider attending the Divine Mercy Sunday celebration at St. Mary’s Cathedral here in St. Cloud being held on Sunday, April 3rd in the upper church from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. There will be prayer, adoration, talks and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Let’s thank God for his Mercy and unconditional love!
