This week I would like to congratulate all our young adults who received the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation! Bishop Donald Kettler did a wonderful job this past Wednesday April 29th at the Church of St. Paul and so did all those who decorated, planned our liturgy, prepared the reception or contributed in any way to help make this a great celebration.

Special thanks to Geralyn Nathe/Evans, our Faith Formation Director, for doing such a great job preparing our candidates. Thanks also to all our sponsors and parents who supported our

program. God has granted our confirmants all the graces they will need to live and embrace their future vocation in Christ. Welcome fully into the Church, the Body of Christ,!

I would also like to congratulate all our second grade children who received their First Holy Communion at our weekend liturgies these past two weeks. May the presence of the Risen Jesus remain close to you and abide in your hearts in his Body and Blood, the Eucharist, as he nourishes us! The Seven Sacraments are all part of our spiritual journey, and they are a wonderful gift from Jesus so he can be with us,. After all, we are a “Sacramental Church” meaning our growth in faith is not a one-time conversion experience, rather, it’s a continual journey of conversion from Baptism to First Penance to First Communion to Confirmation to Marriage (or Holy Orders) and finally, to Anointing of the Sick in preparation for death. Throughout the course of our life the Risen Lord walks with us much like he did with the disciples on the Road to Emmaus.

Along our path he speaks to us, explains the Scriptures, and reveals himself in the “Breaking of the Bread” as we make our way home, home to the Father, home to heaven. May we all continue to walk that path which leads to happiness, fulfillment and eternal life!
