Week of April 26th, 2015
I have some exciting news! In February of next year, 2016, I will be hosting a group to go on Pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Those who join me as their spiritual director will be able to see all the places where Jesus walked and relive many of the Biblical stories that we have come to know and love. They say, “The Bible comes alive when you are in these holy places,” and its true! Our pilgrimage will be an 11 day journey the during first week of Lent and the dates are set. We will be working with Jericho Christian Journeys as our tour guides, and we plan on leaving on Monday February 15th 2016 and return on Thursday, February 25th. Stay tuned, as there will be more information forthcoming this May. At that time, there will be brochures available for those who may be interested as well as a small bulletin insert to help get the word out. If you’ve ever wanted to see the Land of the Bible, this is your opportunity. Think about it, pray about it and hopefully you can join us in our adventure!
Also, this coming Wednesday, on April 29th at 7:00 pm. Bishop Donald Kettler will be administrating the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Church of St. Paul. We have some 60 young candidates from both St. Peter and St. Paul parishes who are in our Faith Formation program and who are excited to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help them on their spiritual journey of faith in Christ. Please pray for our confirmation candidates this week and please come join us for Mass this Wednesday at St. Paul and be part of this great celebration! Don’t worry, there will plenty of room in church, and it would be nice to have the church full of people worshiping and celebrating with our Bishop. A small reception will follow.
Finally, congratulations to all our First Holy Communion children who have received our Lord in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist this past weekend and congratulations to those who will receive Jesus Christ at their First Holy Communion next week! It’s great to see our children dressed so beautifully for this special occasion and to see their faces light up as Jesus comes to them in the forms of bread and wine to live in their hearts. God bless them all as Jesus walks with them in the Sacrament of his Body and in his Blood!
