Week of January 25th, 2015

Throughout the month of January our Confirmation Candidates along with their sponsors have been meeting regularly, each weekend, with Geralyn Nathe-Evan (our Faith Formation Director) before and after each of the Saturday and Sunday Masses at the Church of St. Paul. They have been doing this in order to deepen their faith-life and prepare them in more spiritual ways for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. This has been a wonderful opportunity for our sponsors to connect with our candidates and hopefully share their faith journey and story as well. It has also been a good time for our Confirmation parents, candidates, and sponsors to come to worship together at church. I encourage all of us to pray for our Confirmation candidates as they prepare for Confirmation and complete their Sacramental Initiation into the Church. May the Holy Spirit truly proceed before them and open their heart to the wonderful spiritual gifts given to us by our God! Also, not long ago I sat down and had a good talk with Tricia Walz and Ken Booth, both members of St. Peter and St. Paul, who want to get our youth more involved and excited for our Catholic Faith. I have appointed them as a sort of “Dynamic Duo” to help kick start our Youth Activities Program. This should in no way conflict with what we already have going on for our young people, but should enhance and embellish the good things already going on here at St. Peter and St. Paul. Both Ken and Tricia have volunteered to take on this task of keeping our young people engaged in our faith and excited about knowing Jesus Christ. Hopefully, you will be hearing more from them on the details of events and activities they have planned. I encouraged them to network with our other Catholic Churches in the St. Cloud area and even our other Protestant Churches where appropriate, to help build up our young people for Christ. Stay tuned for more! To our youth, I ask that you keep on the lookout for more information and announcements in our bulletin, website, our face book page or during Faith Formation on upcoming gatherings and ways to be involved. We’ll just have to let the Spirit lead and see what happens! Peace and God bless, Fr. LeRoy Scheierl
