Over the past few weeks (as the new school year peaks over the horizon) I have been approached by some parents as well as our liturgists regarding our Faith Formation Program and the celebration of the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation which have been put on hold last spring due to the restrictions put in place by Covid-19. Lisa Neu, our ACC Faith Formation Director, has recently returned to work after having most of the summer off with her 10 month contract. Masks at Communion Time I have had a few questions and concerns brought to me about wearing masks at the church and especially in the Communion procession and receiving the Holy Sacrament. I think it is good to raise these questions, as this is new for all of us and we are still learning some best practices. First, I would say that the bishop has asked all Catholics in the diocese to follow the Executive Order of our Governor and wear masks at the church and other public settings. The month of August means the winding down of Summer and gearing up for a new Fall 2020-21 school year. Although this year with Covid-19 there will be some unique challenges. Our Students, Parents, and Teachers here at All Saints Academy are excited to get back into the classroom and resume our mission of Catholic Education. At this point, the first day of school for ASA will be on Tuesday, September 1st. Bishop Donald Kettler is committed to having our Catholic Schools reopen.
